The Greensboro community gathered together November 5th for the grand opening of the Renaissance Community Co-op. The full service food cooperative located on Phillips Avenue in northeast Greensboro solved a food desert issue present in the community for 18 years.
City and county leaders joined with the community in celebrating the opening of the once vacant store. The 10,530 square foot grocery offers a wide array of products, including fresh vegetables and a deli section. A hot bar serves meals for people on the go.
You can learn more about the RCC journey in the below slide show that the cooperative produced. You can also read more about it here.
