The Cooperative Council of North Carolina has scheduled a series of events aimed at connecting cooperative employees, while providing a primer on principles education. “Mini Co-op 101” takes place August 24, September 14 and October 13.

“The Council is strongly committed to providing opportunities for co-ops and their employees to connect, as well as provide opportunities for professional development,” shared CCNC Executive Director Emily Nail. “Not everyone can attend a meeting in another part of the state, and so the idea behind Mini Co-op 101 is for us to take the meeting where people live and work.”

The first event takes place next week at Wilkes Communications in Wilkesboro. Two separate sessions are planned August 24, including a morning session from 10:00 am until Noon and an afternoon event from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Participants in both will have a time of quick, structured networking through a “co-operative speed dating” session, followed by an introduction to the Seven Cooperative Principles.

“It will be a fun, interactive and informative event that I think people will be excited to be part of,” Nail said. She added that two more Mini Co-op 101 events are planned, including Tri-County EMC in Dudley (September 14) and Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh (October 13).

If you’d like to go, registration for all these events is now open. Please click here to access the registration form!
